Welcome to Dramatherapy Scotland’s newsletter! In this issue, a whole page is devoted to training and events details as well as information on SATF (Scottish Arts Therapies Forum) and a wee write up on the latest SATF and SDS Training Days in January and February respectively. Read on and enjoy!

* The next BADTh conference/AGM is to be held in Derby on September 8th and 9th this year. Paper proposals can be submitted now and Dramatherapy Scotland is intending to mount a display of work going on in Scotland so PLEASE forward some details of what’s going on with you so that you can be part of promoting Dramatherapy in Scotland. Next year’s conference/AGM will be in Derry, Northern

Ireland where Dramatherapy Scotland hopes to do a presentation, possibly linking up with other regional networks.

* Also, Dramatherapy Scotland has been updating BADTh on the new Professions Allied to Medicine (PAMs) network in Scotland. For more inform-ation on this, please contact Dramatherapy Scotland’s Chair.

* The Chair is also collating information on

conditions of service and salary scales for arts therapists so contact her for more details.

We bid a fond farewell to one of Scotland’s few Dramatherapists. Noel McDermott leaves this month for pastures new in London. Noel supported Dramatherapy Scotland (DTS) and the Scottish Arts

Therapies Forum (SATF) for some years with his unique brand of

humour, energy and playful spirit. One notable performance was that of Norman, the door-to-door

Dramatherapy salesman in a

marketing presentation to SATF. Good luck Noel - may

Dramatherapy evolution (if not devolution) go with you! Elinor Kirk will replace Noel on the

management committee of SATF on which our Chair also sits.
